YWCA Toronto – Building Sustainable Futures (BSF)

YWCA Toronto’s Building Sustainable Futures (BSF) initiative is a national learning collaborative that spans across YWCA’s in ten provinces and three territories, and a host of national employers and community partners. We work together to develop the capacity of literacy and essential skills (LES) organizations to assist women to seize employment opportunities, create sustainable livelihoods and increase their assets.

Currently in Phase Three of the four-year national participatory research project, we are refining our essential skills training model to better serve diverse communities with a focus on newcomers, Indigenous, mature and youth workers.

This project is funded by the Adult Learning, Literacy and Essential Skills Program, Government of Canada.
