HOK, 400 University Avenue, Suite 2200 | Toronto, Ontario
We are excited to announce our second annual YWCA Toronto Art Auction to support homeless women and girls in Toronto.
How many times have you passed a homeless woman? Sadly… it happens every day.
In Canada 1.5 million women live in poverty.
It is a staggering number and one that we feel compelled to act on.
YWCA Toronto is one of the most significant providers of housing in Canada, sheltering almost 1,700 women and children annually. We have identified one of their largest shelters, 1st Stop Woodlawn, as a project that needs immediate attention. Housing 136 women, the building is over 60 years old and in desperate need of some TLC. Our committee and volunteer HOK designers and architects are committed to re-conceptualizing sections of this historic building to create a haven of beauty and tranquility for the wonderful women who call it home.
We will be showcasing superb Canadian artists. It promises to be a poignant and memorable evening.
