YWCA Toronto Elm Housing offers market rental housing to women and women-led families. Our Elizabeth Street facility features 165 affordable 1, 2, and 3-bedroom apartments with 24/7 concierge service, a rooftop terrace and a courtyard with green space, all conveniently located downtown close to TTC.

Application Process

Step 1:
Eligibility for an affordable apartment at YWCA Toronto Elm Housing is determined by household income. Please refer to the income chart below. Applicants who meet household income eligibility criteria are invited to download and complete the application form. Send the application to the Intake Coordinator (see contact details below.) We will contact applicants in 10 business days to confirm that the application has been received.

Step 2:
The application will be reviewed and placed on a wait list if the applicant is eligible.

Step 3:
When YWCA Toronto Elm Housing’s affordable apartments are available, we will contact applicants (in the order in which applications were received) to set up a unit tour and review the application. 

Step 4:
Once the applicant has met with Housing Intake and all of the criteria have been met, she will be offered an apartment and provided with a move in date.

Applicants must notify the Housing Intake if their circumstances have changed or if they no longer wish to live at the YWCA Toronto Elm Housing.
