The YWCA is a member-run association, with our members forming a vital link between the community, our programs and our governance. Our membership structure allows for a direct democratic voice for women and girls seeking an association that can speak to and for their concerns. For a nominal membership fee, you can be part of a thriving international women’s organization committed to social change. Since our national founding in the 1870’s, we have grown to a member-based organization active in over 13 communities in Ontario, with 38 Member Associations in Canada. Through our national office, we are also represented in the leadership of The World YWCA, based in Geneva. Our member associations are active in over 90 countries in the world, and through their grassroots efforts to improve the lives of women and girls, we shape an agenda to address women’s issues globally. Membership in YWCA Toronto links you to an international movement of women leaders. The benefits of membership in YWCA Toronto:
All this costs only $10 per year for general membership, or $1 per year for those currently enrolled in our programs and services! We welcome you to join one of the oldest women’s voluntary associations in Canada, committed to providing solutions to pressing social issues beyond the provision of programs and services to a vision of social change.
