how can I be a part of this community?YWCA Pape Apartments is part of the co-ordinated access system for the City of Toronto. This means that you must apply to the Housing Connections, and select, YWCA Pape Avenue Apartments, as one of your options. There is a waiting list that is managed by Housing Connections. The telephone number for Toronto Housing Connections: (416) 981-6111. When you have submitted your application your name will be added to the chronological list. When your name reaches the top, our staff will contact you to participate in an intake interview. how long can I stay?Pape is long-term housing, which means you can stay as long as you need the services provided by our staff and program. our staffWe offer support services to our tenants through our Community Workers. We recognize that women have varying needs for support in order to ensure their time at Pape is successful. This may be in the area of counselling, training opportunities, a shoulder to lean on, or help finding information and referrals about a your interests. Our workers can help you with anything from resume writing to recipes. The management office consists of a manager, business co-ordinator, secretary and maintenance staff. If you need our help, just ask! what's in the neighbourhood?food stores:Loblaws, No Frills, Food Basics and Price Chopper shopping:Gerrard Square, Zellers, Sears outlet, Good Will and Value Village and a variety of stores along Queen St. East. the area:We are situated in the south Riverdale area close to the Beaches. We have 24 hour TTC services with the Queen St Car, and a new movie theatre and we are just one bus ride to the "Danforth". Area public and Catholic elementary schools are walking distance from Pape. morebreakthrough
