Davenport Shelter


This is a pet-friendly emergency shelter run by YWCA Toronto.
This shelter currently houses 55 beds and will soon be expanded to 73. 


Individuals 16 years of age and older, who identify as women or gender diverse, and are in need of shelter or fleeing violence.

  • Shared dorm-style spaces

  • Shared washrooms and accessible washrooms

  • 24-hour staffing

  • Breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks per day

  • Individual lockers, with locks provided

  • Free laundry

  • On-site programming, activities and outings

  • Trauma-informed, supportive and knowledgeable staff who can help you obtain the services and resources you need

  • Individual and group support programs

  • Support finding safe and affordable housing

  • Support with job search or research into educational or training programs  

  • Counselling (e.g. self-esteem, abuse, substance use, harm reduction, and mental health)
