Terrazzo, Tile & Marble Setter

YWCA Toronto is funded by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) and has partnered with the Terrazzo, Tile & Marble Setter Training School (TTMTS) to bring you a unique pre-apprenticeship training program for women and gender diverse people focused on becoming a commercial Terrazzo, Tile & Marble Setter.

Who is this program for?

  • Women and gender diverse people, 16 years and older
  • Minimum grade 10 education
  • Resident of and able to work in Ontario
  • Willing and able to commit to a 24-week full-time intensive training program
  • Possess or be eligible to obtain a valid driver’s license
  • Physically able to work in a variety of construction work environments and on their feet and knees for a considerable length of time
  • Possess appropriate hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity and ability to identify and follow design patterns

  • Starting in Spring 2023 - Fully Booked

What does this program offer?

  • Women and gender diverse people focused pre-apprenticeship
  • Academic upgrading (math, English, and essential skills for the trade)
  • Safety training and equipment
  • Level 1 Certification
  • Job readiness training
  • Up to eight weeks placement experience after training is completed
  • Supportive, highly-skilled, certified instructors
  • Provide basic work tools and textbooks
  • Public transportation support (if applicable)
  • Ongoing support from YWCA Toronto staff
