Your support of YWCA Toronto goes directly to our 30-plus programs and services which help women and girls escape violence and rebuild healthy lives, while offering a range of housing options, employment and skills development, as well as girls’ and family programs throughout the city. YWCA Toronto is a Turning Point in the lives of women and girls. We are the city's only multi-service organization by, for and about women and girls. We welcome women of all faiths, sexual orientations, races, cultural affiliations and creeds. YWCA has been there for just over 130 years, supporting women and girls who want to make change.
We are there when women and girls need shelter, employment skills, counselling, permanent housing, or the confidence that comes from outdoor education and leadership training. We are also there speaking out when a public policy needs changing, or a regulation has a negative impact, or when the progress of achieving true equality for women and girls is stalled, on the wrong track or no longer a priority in public life. We are the leading publisher of the Life Skills training manuals, and the proud host of the annual Women of Distinction fundraising awards dinner. This year we were the turning point in the lives of over 26,000 across the GTA. As part of a national and international movement, the YWCA is a force in the lives of 25 million women and girls world wide. YWCA is an Association and a movement that is in a period of renewal. In the past 5 years, we have increased our visibility as a voice for women, expanded the number or participants we serve by more than 50%, established more programs in the city’s most underserved neighbourhoods and now work with nearly 140% more young women and girls. Please use this website to explore ways to become involved in this dynamic women's association 134 years after our founding. The site is constantly being updated. In this way it reflects the many things YWCA is involved in. You are always welcome, and we look forward to being the resource you come back to again and again. YWCA Toronto is funded by the United Way of Greater Toronto, the City of Toronto, the Province of Ontario, the Government of Canada, as well as many corporate sponsors, foundations and individual donors.
